30 days Yaoi challenge
Day 2 - Favorite yaoi manga. : Sekai Ichi Hatsukoi
Well… I picked this one for this question in the 35 days of BL manga so in order to be (sort of) consistant in my answers, I’m selecting SIH again.
To speak frankly, I don’t feel so much love for the main storyline actually. TakanoxOnodera story is still nicely done but I don’t feel the same interest towards it. Probably because both of them are now conscious of their feelings and except that Onodera need to stop his denial-behaviour and become a great editor (and I’m waiting for this for 3 years already), there are not a lot of things to resolve anymore.
And I’m also annoyed to see that each chapter follows more or less the same path : problem - solution in bed with sex scene - flash of humor in the last page. I disliked this systematic aspect in JR so I’m not so happy to find it again in SIH.
BUT… I’m a total fan of the new novel pairing ! Kirishima and Yokozawa are seriously great. For once, we have characters who can act adult-like, are conscious of their feelings and able to speak them out, consensual sex… They also care for others and have a “normal” attitude towards their jobs. Seriously, I LOVE this new pairing and I’m serisouly hoping to see more of them sooner or later.
